Description
Some supersymmetric Yang-Mills theories support BPS-saturated non-Abelian
strings. "Non-Abelian" means that all gauge degrees of freedom are equally important at the scale of string formation. These strings can be studies at weak coupling; then supersymmetry allows one to analytically continue to strong coupling. World- sheet theories for the non-Abelian strings are strongly coupled but they can be solved at large N. They exhibit a number of remarkable properties which must have parallels in 4 dimensions. I review main results in this range of questions obtained in the last 3 years.
