The End of Cosmic Dark Ages

Description

Cosmic Reionization - the process of ionization of the bulk of cosmic gas by energetic radiation from first stars and galaxies - marks the last phase transition in the cosmic history and the end of "cosmic dark ages". I will describe that process and illustrate it with computer graphics from numerical simulations. Why do we care to study it? Because the future hold enormous promise - astronomical instruments that are coming online in the next decade all have reionization as one of their main science drivers, and the wealth of new observations they produce will surely revolutionize the whole field.
