ABSTRACT

The quantum nonseparability of a high gain Macroscopic Quantum Superposition (MQS) generated by a Optical Parametric Amplifier in different quantum-injection configurations is demonstrated experimentally. This corresponds to the first working realization of the celebrated 1935 “Schrödinger’s Cat” paradigmatic proposal. The unexpected, striking resilience to decoherence of the quantum-injected device is investtigated in the light of fundamental principles. In particular, on the basis of a well justified conjecture we are led to draw conclusions about the emergence of the classical world in any quantum mechanical process. In addition, our system will be analyzed as a sensible model of metabolic parametric amplification process in complex biological systems as the charge amplification and transfer in a neural network in the brain.
