The Borexino heritage: pp and CNO fusion processes in the Sun

The Borexino collaboration has recently completed the study of solar neutrinos by detecting the CNO cycle. Such process, though sub-dominant in the Sun, plays a key role in the Universe and its detection represents a substantial experimental achievement. The seminar will review the main experimental challenges faced faced to achieve the measurement. It will also summarise the various and rich results obtained by Borexino in its 13 years of data taking.
