Description
The MEG experiment is running at Paul Scherrer Institut to search for the lepton-flavor-violating decay, mu->e+gamma. Recently we reported the first result of MEG based on data taken in 2008. In 2009, we took further data with double statistics. We have analyzed the dataset and performed a search for the decay with a sensitivity of 6.1 x 10^-12, which is twice better than the present upper limit set by the previous experiment.
We present the latest result of the search and discuss the prospects of this experiment for further exploration.
