Description

CERN and JINR are collaborating for the development of a novel instrument, the Precision Laser Inclinometer (PLI). In his talk, I will present the general working principles of
the PLI, the obtained results in terms of resolution in angle
measurements and the measurements of the impact of local and far earthquakes on the LHC collider beams. The possible deployment of the PLI devices to implement alerting and feedback systems for stabilization will be briefly presented. One PLI has been recently installed at the Virgo Experiment and an outlook for future development will be given.
