Description

The innermost wheels of the ATLAS muon endcap spectrometer will be replaced next year by a new wheels. The technologies adopted to preserve, at high luminosity LHC, the high momentum resolution performance of the present wheels and to include them in the trigger logic are the Micromegas and sTGC detectors. The first one will contribute mainly to give information about the direction of the muons, while the second to the trigger system. There are four different types of modules to be built and validate before integration and final commissioning. The Italian-INFN consortium has the responsibility to built and test the micromegas modules of the innermost small sectors (SM1). Here the SM1 drift panels construction, finalization and the results of the QA/QC tests are presented.
