We kindly ask you to make your own bookings. A list of hotels in Trieste can be found at the site of the Friuli-Venezia Giulia regional tourist office (http://www.turismofvg.it/Locality/Trieste), and also at the following hotel portals: Booking, Venere, Galahotels, Trivago.
To get you started, we add here below a list of three-star hotels very close to the central railway station, the bus terminal and intermediate stops (within about 5 minutes walking distance), and a second list of hotels that are still within walking distance of the central railway station, but at more attractive locations, right at the city center (Piazza Unità, the Town Hall and surrounding area).
You might prefer other types of accommodation (residence, bed&breakfast, ...): the choice is fairly wide.
