Description
The Cryogenic Underground Observatory for Rare Events (CUORE) is a ton-scale bolometric experiment searching for neutrinoless double beta decay in Te-130. The detector consists of a compact array of 988 TeO2 crystals arranged in 19 towers. The construction of the detector was completed in August 2016. The experiment is now in pre-operation phase and data taking is commencing. In this talk, beyond updating the physics results from CUORE-0, we will discuss the achievements and technical challenges of the CUORE construction phase, the performance of the detector during pre-operation and the first results from the full detector run.
