Description
In 1981 Unruh suggested that one might test the Hawking effect by studying the scattering of linear perturbations in trans-critical flows. Since then, several experiments have been carried out in different settings. We here report on progresses in the study of surface waves in water tanks. The first progress concerns the modification of the scattering coefficients when dealing with subcritical flows as opposed to transcritical ones. The second concerns the a new method of extracting the scattering coefficients by using correlations (constructive interferences) between various waves.
