Description
Observations of the gamma-ray emission from the Milky Way have significantly improved in recent years thanks to the current space instruments such as Fermi-LAT and AGILE, and to the ground-based telescopes such as H.E.S.S., VERITAS, Milagro at higher energies.
While high-quality data are providing crucial information on Galactic sources, interstellar emissions and high-energy particles, they are challenging our understanding.
I will discuss the state of the art, recent results, and prospects for future instruments.
