Description
Heterogeneous computing systems are designed to achieve higher energy efficiency and throughput by classifying jobs and executing them on the best hardware. The R&D on heterogeneous system in CMS experiment is very active. Two opposite test cases will be discussed:
- programming very low-power x86 SoC with TBB and Beignet OpenCL
- high throughput tracking using GPUs at the CMS High Level Trigger for Run 3.
