Description
Profiting of the favourable conditions offered by the Gran Sasso underground laboratory and of the several low-background DAMA set-ups, many and competitive results have been obtained both in the investigation of Dark Matter and in the search for rare processes, as double beta decays and other rare nuclear decays and transitions. After a brief review of the main searches, I will present the results obtained by the DAMA/LIBRA experiment in the investigation of Dark Matter with the annual modulation signature, the perspectives for the Phase2 of the experiment now running and the future perspectives. In the last part, the potentialities of the anisotropic ZnWO4 detectors in the search for Dark Matter with the directionality approach will be discussed.
