Description

I will discuss the application of string theory to hadron physics, in two approaches. The first is holographic QCD, which is the programme to find a string theory dual of QCD. The second is the effective string theory approach, applicable to the flux tubes found in QCD. I will review some phenomenological models, based on string theory, that can be used to compute hadron masses, decay widths, and other observables, and present my recent work on holographic computations of meson scattering.
