Description
Anisotropies in the Cosmic Microwave Background are now routinely measured
with high precision out to multipoles of several thousand. However, I'd
like here to talk about the lowest multipoles, specifically the monopole,
dipole and quadrupole. These are special for several reasons, and there
are new ways to think about them, as I'll try to convince you!
