Description
Highlights of ground-breaking experiments like DoNut and CHORUS will be briefly recollected through textbook class “snapshots” of charged-current neutrino interactions and the recognized signature of short-leaved tau lepton and charmed hadrons. Latest OPERA results (and some related event images) will be reported, with the open identification of muon, electron and tau leptons, demonstrating the nu-tau appearance in the CNGS beam. The neutrino target conceived for the SHIP project will be presented, with an outlook to perspectives for high-statistics neutrino and anti-neutrino studies while looking for portals to access the Hidden Sector.
