Description
This talk presents a review of what is special and most exciting about low-dimensional physics. Besides the fact that the phase space constraints in low dimensions always lead to strong correlations, there are few other distinct features. I will discuss concepts of quantum number fractionalization, confinement, spin-charge separation, dynamical mass generation and extension of the 1D physics to 3D through Dynamical Mean Field Theory.
