Description
In this talk I will review the recent efforts to understand some aspects of strongly correlated fermionic systems using the AdS/CFT correspondence. The motivation is partly phenomenological, coming from the desire to have models capable of describing the behavior of systems like the high-temperature cuprate superconductors, and partly purely theoretical, namely understanding what phases of matter at finite density are possible. Particular emphasis will be given to the deviations from Fermi liquid behavior exhibited by several holographic constructions.
