Description
The problems that the advanced accelerators are facing today could only be overcome by intensive R&D. In order to achieve safe, reliable and stable operation, accelerating cavity studies for reducing vacuum discharges, field emissions and electron clouds are mandatory for future accelerator developments. In this presentation I will show highlight results from DC spark test setup at CERN which is simple, convenient and cost effective test system for studying emission related phenomena under high gradient. I will also mention developments of high power tests and conditionings of the accelerator cavities for LINAC4 which is a new LHC injector for higher intensity and luminosity.
