Generation and manipulation of single photons with exponential time envelope

Description
We present a source of correlated photon pairs based on the use of four wave mixing in cold rubidium 87 atoms.Exploiting a cascade level scheme, the generated photon pairs present a bandwidth and temporal shape suitable for interaction with atomic systems. We conclude by showing some preliminary results of the interaction of this heralded single photons with photons generated by a single trapped Rubidium atom.
