Description
The talk concentrates on two topics addressed by numerical simulations of lattice QCD. In the first part fluctuations and correlations of conserved quantum numbers as baryon number, strangeness and electrical charge are studied in the vicinity of the chiral crossover temperature of QCD. These quantities can be useful to analyze the freeze-out of hadrons in heavy ion collisions and to learn more about the carriers of those quantum numbers. In a second part the restoration of chiral symmetries at high temperature is investigated by means of hadron correlations and eigenvalues of the Dirac matrix.
