Description
Longstanding puzzles in spin physics can be confronted at the high energies of the LHC. Heavy quarks may have significant polarization - single spin asymmetries as well as polarization correlations. How will strange and charm hadron polarization be observed? Lower energy proton accelerator and leptoproduction data suggest various mechanisms within QCD for polarization. GPDs, Fracture Functions, Fragmentation, and gluon fusion all provide different model approaches to the polarization phenomena. Their implications will be described. Observations of polarization can sort out possible QCD mechanisms. Some spin correlation measurements could indicate physics beyond the Standard Model.
