Description
The talk will present the timeline and expectations for future LHC operation. The main changes planned on the machine side for the high-luminosity HL-LHC will be presented and the consequences for the experiments discussed with in particular :
expected luminosity and pile-up, luminosity leveling, changes to the layout, and implications for radiation and backgrounds, luminosity measurements and protection in case of accidental beam loss.
