Localization of micro discharges in the Tandem

During each conditioning process of a high voltage Tandem accelerator one observes the generation of several so-called micro-discharges inside the vacuum tube of the accelerator. The origin of these discharges is not so clear and a precise localization could help us to understand their source and mechanism of emission. They are a source of particles or droplets release and it has also been observed X-ray pulses emission during the conditioning process.
