A short review of New Massive Gravity

We discuss a new way of giving mass to the graviton, namely by  adding higher derivative terms to the Einstein action. In three spacetime dimensions this leads to a higher-derivative model of gravity, called New Massive Gravity. I will give a review of the basic properties of this model including some recent attempts to generalize the construction to four spacetime dimensions.
