 s to a single two-input gate\, the NAND (or NOR)\, but continuous mathemat
 ics has had no comparable primitive: computing elementary functions such a
 s sin\, sqrt\, or log has always required many distinct operations. I repo
 rt the discovery that a single binary operator\, eml(x\, y) = exp(x) − l
 n(y)\, together with the constant 1\, generates the entire standard repert
 oire of a scientific calculator\, i.e. arithmetic\, exponentials\, logarit
 hms\, trigonometric and hyperbolic functions with their inverses\, and the
  constants e\, pi and i. Every elementary expression becomes a binary tree
  of identical eml nodes\, a grammar as simple as S -> 1 | eml(S\, S). This
  uniform\, differentiable architecture enables gradient-based symbolic reg
 ression: EML trees act as trainable sub-circuits from which closed-form fo
 rmulas are recovered directly from data. The talk will also cover the exha
 ustive search methods behind the discovery\, verification across symbolic 
 and numerical platforms\, and common misconceptions that surfaced after th
