  Nazionale di Fisica Nucleare)\n\nNUSES is a satellite mission currently u
 nder development to test new technologies and observational methods for st
 udying cosmic radiation from space. The mission hosts two payloads with di
 fferent scientific objectives: Zirè and Terzina. Zirè is dedicated to th
 e observation of low-energy cosmic and gamma rays\, space weather\, and ma
 gnetosphere–ionosphere–lithosphere interactions. Terzina is a compact 
 Cherenkov telescope designed to observe the optical emission produced by e
 xtensive air showers in the Earth’s atmosphere. By looking towards the E
 arth’s limb\, the instrument can detect showers generated by ultra-high 
 energy cosmic rays (above the limb)\, or upward-going showers induced by E
 arth-skimming neutrinos (below the limb). In this work we present the gene
 ral status of the mission and the preliminary performance assessment.-----
