General Matters:

  • Agreed on reports at Muraves GENRAL meeting: loop Alice->Adithyan->Dora->Gabor->Alice->...
  • Alice (and Gabor, when possible) will work from VUB one day per week. Wednesday or Friday?
  • From 19 to 21 of May, Gabor is in Naples.
    • Ask Giovanni  his availability for a visit to the INGV.

    • Send a reminder to G&G about the visit to Naples and how to organise MURAVES visit (Gabor doesn't have the car this time).

    • Bring laser for for measurements. inspect surface around.

  • HDD has arrived and works (effective memory 15TB)

Round table:

Dora: on holidays but shared slides (available in her slot) about the geometry of the detect implemented in the simulation and a couple of doubts about it. To be discussed with Giulio and Gigi.

Samip and Adithyan: Works in synergy on digitalisation. Adithyan produced reconstructed runs with v0.1.0 of Software repository (still cpp scripts). Newly produced runs were compared with old runs that Samip still had (ROSSO runs 3780 to 3818 ). The output are different in terms of cluster thresholds that were applied. Samip: Threshold of new production seems more reasonable. In any case the study on digitaliation will move on with the new data samples produced. Scripts will be push on the simulation GitHub repository soon.

Gabor: Working on pedestal analysis. Working on the test of fitting peaks with gaussians, this should help in finding the real position of the pedestal and the second peak (means of the gaussians).

Alice: Nothing to report besides the bug fix on the StripsID variables. Luckily, the bug was restricted to those variables, nothing else seemed to be affected. Samip: strips position wasn't affected by the bug? Apparently not, but I will double check.
Updates:Strips position wasn't affected because the code wasn't using the variables relative to the stripID affected by the bug.

Validation of the pythonic version of the reconstruction scipts:

I have identified the issue with StripsID branches.

The problem seems to originate in ClusterLists.cc script, because the variable ClusterStripsID is not cleared like the others. This leads to a carry-over of stripsID between clusters.
After adding the line clusterStripsID.clear();, the variables StripsID occupancy now match perfectly with the corresponding pythonic version.

In the Python version, the lists are reinitialized at each iteration over clusters, so this issue cannot occur by construction.

This is probably the bug in the clustering script that was mentioned in the past by Giulio.

      Updates from Dora 10m
Speaker: Dora Geeraerts (Vrije Universiteit Brussel)

      Dora:

      • Mariaelena used a base of 33 mm, from this I decided to use an effective base of 32.5 mm and gap of 0.5 mm (since G&G said gap 0f 0.5 seems reasonable)
      • corners are cut, based on picture from Gigi this cut is 1-2 mm, so for now I cut off 1mm

      My doubts:

      1. I modeled the holes and aluminum plate according to G&G’s values, but they seem larger on Gigi’s picture (as you can see in slide 6 and 7)
      2. The bar aligment (slide 5) was not discussed, but I think option 2 is more realistic
