Engineering and Operational Challenges within the SPES Project at LNL
by
C. Villi meeting room
The complexity of the SPES facility requires the integration of multidisciplinary activities involving beamline design, diagnostics development, and system integration.
This seminar presents an overview of the activities carried out within the SPES project, focusing on three main areas. The first part describes the redesign of the Target-ISOL beamline to support an increase of the proton beam energy up to 70 MeV. The seminar will also address the management and industrialization of the target chamber, including the revision of technical drawings for external manufacturing, the setup of an assembly workstation, the procurement of components, and the reorganization of the CAD model.
The second part focuses on the management and maintenance of beam diagnostic systems across the facility, ensuring reliable beam monitoring and operational continuity along the existing beamlines.
The final section presents the ongoing Phase 4 of the SPES project, highlighting activities related to system integration, planning, and CAD modeling, aimed at supporting the transition toward full operational readiness and improving subsystem compatibility and maintainability.
