Code of Conduct

The International Workshop on Shape Coexistence, E0 Transitions, and Related Topics in Florence aims to be a welcoming, respectful, and safe experience for everyone.

The workshop recognizes and promotes the intrinsic value of every person and every group; it encourages dignity, understanding, and mutual respect, and values diversity. This commitment helps make our community and our meetings safe environments. By participating in the workshop, everyone commits to respecting these principles.

Our strength comes from diversity: we promote collaboration among groups with different expertise, welcoming new ideas and perspectives.

We invite everyone to contribute to ensuring that the workshop is a welcoming and respectful place for every participant, regardless of race, gender identity and expression, age, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, national origin, ethnicity, political affiliation, or religion. Creating an inclusive environment allows us to fully value the scientific program, foster networking, and preserve the cultural richness of our community.

During the workshop, no form of harassment toward participants will be tolerated, either in person or online, including, but not limited to:

  • Verbal comments, including jokes, that reinforce social structures of domination related to gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, age, or religion
  • Verbal threats, intimidating demands, or personal attacks
  • Sexualized, discriminatory, or exploitative images in any workshop space, including presentations and public areas
  • Deliberate intimidation, stalking, or harassing behavior
  • Harassing photography or recording
  • Sustained disruption of talks or activities
  • Unwanted sexual attention
  • Encouraging or supporting harassing behavior
  • Insults or negative messages based on physical appearance

By participating in the workshop, all participants, including speakers and organizers, commit to respecting this code of conduct, both during the workshop and in the related online communities and social media.

Participants asked to stop any harassing behavior are expected to comply immediately. Violations of the code of conduct may result in removal from the workshop.
