Abstract
The environmental impact of high-energy physics experiments can be significant due to their large scale, the materials employed, and the energy consumption involved. It is therefore crucial to assess the extent of this impact and to investigate technological solutions that can achieve scientific objectives while maintaining high detector performance. In this contribution, we focus on gas-based detectors used in high-energy physics, discussing the new challenges they face and exploring possible technological solutions.
