Description
Generalized Transverse Momentum Dependent parton distributions (GTMDs) can be accessed in ultraperipheral collisions (UPCs) and in photoproduction, which allows for a direct comparison of LHC and EIC data in the future, but not every GTMD observable at LHC has an analogous process at EIC or vice versa. For example, GTMDs of photons inside highly charged ions can be studied in UPCs but not in photo- or electroproduction and gluon GTMD expressions in electroproduction are extensions of the photoproduction ones that cannot be accessed in UPCs. In this way both overlapping and complementary information on GTMDs can be obtained, which ideally should be combined to obtain the most complete picture of GTMDs.
