Description

For the EIC, the precision QCD event generators developed for the LHC need to be extended. In this talk I present NLO+PS hadron-level predictions in Sherpa across the three dominant production regimes at the EIC. For inclusive DIS, I examine multi-jet final states and event shapes and where perturbative precision is the limiting factor versus non-perturbative effects. For photoproduction and diffraction, I present the first NLO+PS predictions for both processes: photoproduction contributes substantially in jet cross-section studies; and diffraction enables studies of events with large rapidity gaps and of the Pomeron structure. As an outlook I will outline precision efforts for the LHC and how they will be fruitful for the EIC.
