The meeting will be held on the island of Capri at Villa Orlandi, a 17th century villa in Anacapri restored by the University of Naples "Federico II". Directions from Piazza Vittoria in Anacapri to Villa Orlandi can be found here.
Villa Orlandi began as a 17th-century rural property linked to the Teresian nuns near San Michele (church consecrated 1719). In the 18th–19th centuries it evolved into a simple garden villa with a colonnaded entrance from Via Finestrale, embracing the Mediterranean “Capri style” and sweeping views of the Gulf of Naples. The Orlando/Orlandi family helped secure the first road between Capri and Anacapri (1874–77), boosting access. Restored in the 20th century by Edwin Cerio, the villa became a small hub for science and the arts—hosting the Stockholm Observatory’s Capri outpost (1952) and, in the 1960s, artists welcomed by Lucio Amelio and Pasquale Trisorio (including Andy Warhol and Jannis Kounellis). After a later restoration, since 2000 Villa Orlandi has housed the University of Naples “Federico II” International Centre for Scientific Culture. More information can be found here.
