Description
ABSTRACT

The search for the Standard Model Higgs boson is one of the central goal of the LHC physics program. Direct searches at LEP and the Tevatron already excluded a Standard Model Higgs boson with a mass mH < 114.4 GeV or 156 GeV< mH < 177 GeV at 95% confidence level. Moreover, the results of searches in various channels using data corresponding to an integrated luminosity of approximately 5 fb-1 of data have recently been reported by both the ATLAS and CMS collaborations, excluding the region 112.9 <mh 127="" 600="" 95%="" <115.5="" and="" at="" atlas="" between="" boson.="" cl.="" cms="" experiments="" final="" for="" gev="" higgs="" mh="" region="" search="" several="" sm="" states="" studied="" the="" to=""> 135 GeV, H -> WW(*) is the dominant decay mode of the Higgs boson and in the region around mH = 160 GeV the purely leptonic mode H->WW(*)->lvlv is the most sensitive channel. The latest results on the Standard Model Higgs boson searches in proton proton collisions at $\sqrt{s}=7$ TeV at the LHC in the H->WW(*)->lvlv decay channel will be presented.
