Abstract
Quantum computers of the future may solve in seconds problems that would take today’s most powerful supercomputers millions of years. But how do these "impossible computers" actually work? And why are they so extraordinarily powerful? The first quantum revolution reshaped our understanding of nature, forcing us to abandon a deterministic view of the universe. Now, we are living through a second quantum revolution — one that aims to build real quantum machines: computers that follow quantum logic, inherently secure quantum internet, and ultra-precise sensors that will transform our daily lives, from medicine to cybersecurity.
