Description

In his seminal 1979 Cargèse lectures, ’t Hooft showed how anomaly matching can be used to prove chiral symmetry breaking in QCD-like theories. I will review the strategy pursued in the literature that implements this idea, and clarify which are the dynamical assumptions it relies upon. I will then present a novel argument that does not require any dynamical assumption.
