The 2nd INFN School and Workshop on High Power Lasers for Fundamental Science and Applications" (HPLA2025) is scheduled to take place in the prestigious "Migneco" hall at the National Laboratories of South Italy (INFN-LNS) in Catania.

How to Reach:
Catania–Fontanarossa Airport (CTA):
Located 4.3 km southwest of Catania, Catania-Fontanarossa International Airport (CTA) provides convenient access to our venue. To reach the center of Catania, you can choose either a taxi or the ALIBUS shuttle service.
Public Transport:
- From the airport, take the ALIBUS shuttle bus to the Central Station for a fare of €4 per single trip. Upon arrival at the Central Station, you can transfer to another bus or the metro to reach your final destination. The ALIBUS service operates from 4:40 AM to 12:30 AM, with buses running every 25 minutes. For the latest schedule, visit the official website:
https://www.amts.ct.it/alibus - The BRT1 bus line: from city center take the bus at the "Stesicoro" or "Bellini statua Garibaldi" bus stop and get off at the "Cittadella Ovest" bus stop, just 20 meters after campus entrance. Buses run every 7-12 minutes, ticket must be bought in advance in a “Tabacchi” shop or in newspaper kiosk in city centre. (see web site of BRT1)
- The Underground FCE line: from city centre take the train at the “Stesicoro (Nesima direction)” station and get off at “Milo” one (Line Map)(timetable). Once outside the station a free bus shuttle (see web site) (shuttle timetable) will bring you at the "Cittadella Ovest" bus stop, just 20 meters after campus entrance. Trains run every 10 minutes, shuttle buses are in connection; ticket can be bought in the automatic machines inside the metro stations.
- At the Central Station, board bus 442 to the Cittadella Ovest stop for a direct 30-minute ride. Alternatively, take bus 556 to the Doria Santa Sofia stop, followed by a 5-minute walk to INFN-LNS.
NOTE:
- Remember to purchase an additional ticket for buses 442 or 556 (€1) from the vending machine near the bus stop at the Central Station.
- Validate your ticket inside the bus once you board.
By taxi:
Convenient taxi services are available at any time at the airport.
Taxi fares range from €20 to €35 depending on the destination.

By car:
We kindly discourage the use of private cars to reach the site. However, if you plan to arrive by car, please be aware that free parking inside the INFN premises is extremely limited. We strongly recommend arriving around 08:00 am to increase the likelihood of finding a parking spot. Otherwise, parking inside INFN may not be available.
Additional parking will be available at the Cittadella Campus of the University of Catania, which is close to INFN. Here as well, we suggest arriving early.
A further option is the “Parcheggio Scambiatore S. Sofia (FCE)”, shown on the attached map. You may leave your car there and take the regular shuttle service that runs to and from the laboratory.
