The Venue
"Il Palazzone, of the Scuola Normale Superiore (SNS), is situated just outside the imposing ancient walls of Cortona. It is easily accessible by a scenic walk from the town center, approximately 1.5 km away. Starting at Piazzale Garibaldi, follow Via Gino Severini, where you will encounter several tourist signs guiding you to Il Palazzone.

How to reach Cortona
By plane: The nearest airport is Florence, though Rome may be more convenient for intercontinental flights. Alternatively, Pisa is another option. From any of these airports, you can continue your journey by train. There is also a national airport in Perugia.
By Train: The nearest railway station is Camucia-Cortona, located 5 km from the town center (distinct from Terontola-Cortona, which is farther away and on the Terontola-Perugia-Assisi-Terni line). This station lies on the Florence-to-Rome line, with travel times of about one hour from Florence and two hours from Rome, Siena, or Pisa. Train schedules can be accessed here: Trenitalia website.
By Bus: From the train stations (Camucia, Terontola, Arezzo, or Castiglion Fiorentino), you can plan your bus journey using the Autolinee Toscane website.
By Car: Take the main A1 highway (Autostrada del Sole) from either Rome or Florence. Exit at "Valdichiana-Bettolle" and follow the signs toward "Perugia," which will lead you to "Raccordo autostradale". From there, take the exit marked "Cortona." Follow the signs for Cortona on the SP32, and after a short drive, you will see the hill of Cortona in the distance.
