      General Info

       MANDATE - The Mediator's mandate is to promote the amicable resolution of any conflicts within the supervisor-doctoral candidate relationship in the  doctoral program.

      APPOINTMENT - The Mediator is appointed by the Vice Rector responsible for Doctoral and Postgraduate Studies at the University and is generally chosen from among the University's faculty members. The term of the Mediator’s mandate is one year (renewable).

       REQUEST - The Mediator does not intervene on their own initiative but upon request, which may also be made orally, by at least one of the parties in conflict. The request briefly describes the nature of the conflict.

      Any student enrolled in the Doctoral program and any Supervisor may submit a request to the Mediator. The Program Coordinator may also encourage the conflicting parties to seek mediation. Mediation is entirely voluntary.
