Description

This seminar is the fourth in a series of 13 seminars that Carlo Pagani has conducted over the past two years at the IASF (Institute of Applied Science Facilities) in Shenzhen, China. These seminars have been delivered both in person and remotely. The primary purpose of these seminars was to introduce a community of physicists, engineers, and technicians—tasked with developing new large research infrastructures in the Greater Bay Area—to the concepts of linear and superconducting particle accelerators. This included covering their history and evolution, as well as addressing the challenges faced by similar projects.
The intent behind repurposing this material is to provide a valuable resource for the members of the LASA SRF group by placing their research work within a broader context. Additionally, the seminars are now accessible to a wider and potentially interested audience, thanks to the technical means available to us without much effort.
