Summary
This work evaluates the production of NCA 166Ho by double neutron capture of 164Dy, followed by chemical separation from 166Dy. The highest yields of 2.3 GBq 166Ho was achieved after the first processing cycle and 0.74 GBq after a second processing cycle. Although a high 166Ho recovery is seen after the first processing cycle the product is not fully carrier free, as traces of 165Ho remain from the decay of 165Dy that never converted to 166Dy during the neutron irradiation. An improved labeling efficiency was seen for 166Ho from second processing cycle.
