GJC: Lorenzo Boldorini "Effective Quantum Gravitational Collapse in a Polymer Framework"

This work revolves around the study of the gravitational collapse of stars when taking into account the effects induced by the quantization given by the so called polymer quantum mechanics. We will analyze how a quantum induced correction to the Hamiltonian of the Oppenheimer-Snyder model modifies the classical dynamics into a semiclassical one. A new astrophysical object will emerge in this picture as well as a purely quantum effect to be associated with the possible creations of white holes through the means of quantum transitions.
