Born as a tool to assess the stability of relativistic fluid theories, the "information current" is now finding applications in all areas of relativistic fluid mechanics and rheology, ranging from the theory of signal propagation, to the theory of hydrodynamic fluctuations. In this seminar, I will introduce the audience to the information current, and provide some examples of notable applications. The talk will be in lecture format (on blackboard).
