Searching for Sub-treshold Dark Matter effects in Superfluids

I will discuss the function and aim of the novel dark matter detection experiment QEST-DMC, a bolometric sensor based on superfluid He3. In addition to the signals based on individual interactions of dark matter particles with the superfluid, which can be reconstructed based on quasiparticle shower detection, I will discuss search strategies that aim at bulk energy injection, and collective effects on quasiparticle propagation. Finally, I will discuss more broadly the expected reach of such low threshold detectors to certain classes of sub-GeV dark matter candidates.
