This is February’s edition of the newsletter of the COST action. The aim is to keep you updated on recent and upcoming conferences and postdoc positions on subjects related to WISPs.

Spectrum of global string networks and the axion dark matter mass, K. Saikawa, J. Redondo, A. Vaquero, M. Kaltschmidt, https://arxiv.org/abs/2401.17253
In this paper, we perform a dedicated analysis of the spectrum of axions radiated from strings based on large scale numerical simulations of the cosmological evolution of the Peccei-Quinn field. We found that there are several systematic effects that have been overlooked in previous works, some of which could explain the discrepancy in the literature. Taking all the systematic uncertainties into account and performing the extrapolation of the numerical results, we find that the dark matter mass is predicted in the range of 95-450 micro eV.
Bayesian sensitivity of binary pulsars to ultra-light dark matter, P. Kus, D. L. Nacir, F. Urban, https://arxiv.org/abs/2402.04099
We devise a two-step, bayesian method that enables us to compute semi-analytically the sensitivity of binary pulsars to ultra-light dark matter, and apply our method to the case of a universal, linearly-coupled, scalar field.
We encourage participants in the COST action to send us a small summary, typically smaller than the abstract, of their own articles that will appear in the arXiv in February (after they appear, with their arXiv numbers). The summary will be disseminated in the newsletter of February.
