Getting to Pollica:
The closest airport is Napoli, and the closest train station to Pollica is Vallo della Lucania.
by car from Napoli/Roma:
You can rent a car at the airport either in Napoli or Roma. The drive from Napoli takes about 3 hours while from Roma is closer to 5 hours. There is a great advantage of having a car while in Pollica. It is much easier to explore the Cilento area. Please notice that most available cars might have manual transmission.
by train from Napoli:
There are many trains to Vallo della Lucania departing both from Napoli Centrale station (you can check schedules and book trains at https://www.trenitalia.com/en.html or https://www.italotreno.it/en). Napoli Centrale can be reached easily by bus (Alibus) from the airport in Naples. The train ride from Napoli Centrale to Vallo della Lucania is about 1 hour and 45 minutes.
by train from Roma:
From Roma Fiumicino airport you can take the “Leonardo Express” train (tickets can be purchased at the airport at the Trenitalia machines) to Roma Termini train station and from Roma Termini take a train to Vallo della Lucania (you can check schedules and book trains at https://www.trenitalia.com/en.html or https://www.italotreno.it/en). The train ride from Roma Termini to Vallo della Lucania is of about 2 hours and 45 minutes. There are many trains per day, but note that reservation is required.
by bus from Napoli:
If you are flying into Napoli, there is a bus from the airport to Acciaroli (less than 10 minutes drive from Pollica) which can be booked at https://www.agenziainfanteviaggi.it. Notice that there is a single bus ride per day, we suggest considering arriving in Pollica by train or by car.
If you have booked your stay through the local Bed and Breakfast association, they will arrange your pick up at the Vallo della Lucania train station. If so, please communicate your arrival time to them by sending an email to pollicacittaslow@gmail.com.
Important: please not that, while you can book your accommodation through other channels, pick up and transportation to your accommodation can only be provided if you are staying in one of the Bed and Breakfast of the Pollica Città Slow association. Unfortunately, as per Italian law, no exception can be made.
Accommodation:
We have an agreement with the local Bed and Breakfast association for a flat rate applied to all participants of the workshop. Participants will be distributed among the different Bed and Breakfasts of the area. The rates for the rooms are:
- double/twin room € 80 (2 pax).
- single room or double room single use € 60 (1 pax).
- any additional beds for each room type € 25.
