Description

I will discuss the role of spacetime torsion, in Einstein-Cartan
formalism, as a natural, geometric way to couple gravity to matter.
Then, I will present new geometries, in three spacetime dimensions,
which involve a peculiar interplay between the vector and the singlet
irreducible components of the torsion which feature a formal analogy
with the equation for a Beltrami fluid.
