Abstract:
The recent advances in the realization of hybrid
semiconducting-superconducting systems open the way to the engineering of
exotic topological phases of matter and phenomena. In this talk I will
describe platforms to create and observe a particular kind of non-Abelian
anyons called parafermions, predicted to appear at the interface between
superconductors and fractional quantum Hall edge modes. I will discuss how
parafermions can be detected through transport experiments and show that
current measurements can be used to read their protected degrees of
freedom. I will explain how to model their read-out dynamics based on
stochastic quantum jump methods, and present their conductance and noise
signatures.
