Description

Abstract: Muon science covers wide research areas, including muon physics, muon collider, mSR-based multidisciplinary applications, muonic X-ray analysis and muon imaging. Although there is still not an operating muon facility in China, the relevant studies or research have been gradually attracting more people. A study group at IHEP has been designing the first Chinese muon source at China Spallation Neutron Source since 2007. Several institutions joined the international collaborations (Mu2e/COMET/g-2/EDM) during recent years. Some joined the International Muon Collider Collaboration. A few institutions are exploiting muon radiography using cosmic muons. Recently, new proposals to build muon facilities at domestic large accelerator facilities such as CiADS, HIAF and SHINE are under discussion. This seminar will give an overview of the muon activities in China.
